Evanescence Scores Hit With Help From Netflix

Evanescence, the renowned rock band led by Amy Lee, has made a remarkable return to the music charts with their latest single, “Afterlife.” This track serves as the official soundtrack for Netflix’s anime series “Devil May Cry,” which premiered on April 3, 2025. The collaboration has reignited interest in the band’s music, marking their first significant hit in years.

Afterlife” was co-written by Amy Lee and Alex Seaver of Mako, and co-produced by Seaver and Nick Raskulinecz. The song’s release has been met with enthusiasm from fans and critics alike, leading to a resurgence in Evanescence’s popularity. Amy Lee hinted that this single is just the beginning, stating that the band is actively working on new material for an upcoming album, which will be their first since 2021’s “The Bitter Truth.”

This resurgence is not entirely unexpected, as Evanescence’s music has demonstrated enduring appeal. In 2024, their debut album “Fallen” experienced a 50% surge in sales, two decades after its initial release. Additionally, their iconic single “Bring Me to Life” returned to various Billboard charts, reflecting a sustained interest in their earlier work.

The collaboration with Netflix and the release of “Afterlife” signify a new chapter for Evanescence, blending their signature sound with contemporary projects and reaching both longtime fans and new audiences
