Evanescence has ignited excitement among fans with a cryptic video posted on their official social media post.
Amy Lee’s haunting vocals brought a transformative depth to Korn’s MTV Unplugged performance, which Loudwire ranked as the 8th best episode in the series’ history. Recorded in December 2006, this acoustic set featured a standout rendition of “Freak on a Leash” where Lee’s ethereal voice intertwined seamlessly with Jonathan Davis’s, offering a fresh, emotionally charged take on the nu-metal classic. This collaboration not only showcased Lee’s versatility but also highlighted the innovative potential of acoustic reinterpretations in heavy music.
The performance was part of a broader effort to reinterpret Korn’s music in an acoustic setting, featuring contributions from other notable artists like The Cure. The album debuted at number 9 on the U.S. Billboard 200, reflecting its commercial success and the positive reception from fans and critics alike.
For those interested in experiencing this unique performance, the “Freak on a Leash” duet featuring Amy Lee is available on various platforms, including YouTube and Spotify.

“Fallen”—now that’s a legendary TBT pick. Released in 2003, and still hits like a storm. That album defined an era of emotional, dramatic, symphonic rock. Perfect for eyeliner-heavy moods and staring out rainy windows.
Here’s a mini Fallen throwback moment for you:
Top tracks from Fallen:
“Bring Me to Life” (feat. Paul McCoy) – The anthem that kicked down doors.
“Going Under” – That chorus is straight-up power.
“My Immortal” – Tears. Instant tears.
“Everybody’s Fool” – Underrated gem with real critique.
“Imaginary” – Dreamy, haunting perfection.
“Haunted” – Yes. Just yes.
The rare video was filmed at Vino’s Bar in Little Rock, Arkansas back in 1999, and shows Amy Lee on vocals, former Evanescence bandmate Ben Moody on guitar, Stephanie Pierce on back up vocals, and an unnamed violinist.
The clip pre-dates any official Evanescence releases, with the band’s demo album ‘Origin’ coming out in 2000, followed by their debut studio album ‘Fallen’ in 2003. Some songs from those albums are performed in the clip, including ‘Imaginary’ and ‘Whisper’.
Amy Lee and co’s full one-hour-set is captured in the video, and while the sound and quality isn’t great – it’s pretty epic seeing Evanescence before they were what we know them as now.
John Furman, the uploader of the video, has even timestamped each individual song, so if you wanna skip to something in particular, you can. Check out the timestamps below, and have a watch of the 1999 video up top.
Amy Lee has spoken to “Loudwire Nights” about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the long-awaited follow-up to the band’s 2011 self-titled effort.
“This has been something where we are all in there together for most of the time so far,” she said (hear audio below).
“We’re in there with [producer] Nick Raskulinecz right now, who we’ve worked with before and loved working with before. He produced our self-titled album, which is really our favorite album. He also mixed [EVANESCENCE’s recent cover of the FLEETWOOD MAC song] ‘The Chain’.
“We’ve been in there kind of working as a team,” she reiterated. “The songs came from all different places. They’re not all in the same vein.
“We’re working on four songs right now. Originally, we were gonna go in there and just do two. I just wanna kind of do a few songs at a time, keep writing, go in and do a few more, release ’em one by one. But once we opened the can of worms, it kept growing. ‘Oh, we can’t do this one and not do this one. We have to do four.’ So, it’s four. So we’re working double hard to get it all done with the time that we have. But it’s going really great.” [Full Article]
